Required Reading

Life is complicated enough without getting into hotwater with federal agencies so: TAKE NOTE Many things I review I got at no charge in exchange for an honest review. Consider this as informing you that ALL things I review may have been gotten at no charge. Realistically about 60% but in order to keep things above board just assume that I got the stuff free. I do not collect information on my readers. If cookies or other tracking stuff is used on my blogs it is due to BLOGGER not ME. Apparently the European Union's new rules state I need to inform you if cookies are being use. If they are it isn't byu me, consider yourself INFORMED.
Words like, “sponsored,” “promotion,” “paid ad” or even just “ad” are clear ways to disclose that you’re being paid to share information and links so BE AWARE that some of what I write can be described as an AD by the government. BTW I will NEVER say a product is great, super or even acceptable if it isn't, whether I got it free or NOT!

Books I have authored.

Many times I receive books for FREE to give them an honest review. I do not get paid to give a good or bad review. Spotlights are promotional and should be regarded as advertising for the book spotlighted. Regardless of where or how I got a book, my review will be as honest as I can make it.

We Few by David Weber and John Ringo

The grand finale of the four book series until they decide to write another one. Weber and Ringo are still unbeatable in my book. They do not spare your emotions in that characters you really like often don’t reach the end of the book alive. I’m 6’2” tall, 220 pounds of weight lifting, manly man old guy who on occasion, tears up during the Star Spangled Banner and the loss of a well loved character in a series that has encompassed around 1600 pages. These bozos seduce you into caring about the characterizations then take them out in an exploding plasma rifle. Needless to say the book is action packed, adrenaline pumped with occasional interludes of civics instruction. An intoxicating if sometimes head scratching mix, I can only hope they decide to do another in the same venue. I highly recommend it.

Liberty by Stephen Coonts

Jake Grafton is back, older, wise but just as tough. Grafton is a reoccurring Coonts character. Now an admiral, he is just as ruthless and driven as in his past books. This is a post 9/11 book and deals with terrorism. Sadly the plot is entirely too believable. There is such unrest in the world that the theft of nuclear weapons and their convoluted placement is plausible. There is some romance, lots of violence, action and thought provoking scenarios. The inability of various government agencies to cooperate, even in a nation threatening crisis, seems like it could be taken out of practically any days newspaper (internet) headlines. The edgy plot made for an interesting but troubling reading experience. I recommend it.
