Abandon by Blake Crouch

Indiana Jones meet Stephen King.  The author clearly demonstrates that human emotions are far more frightening than paranormal activities.   Abandon, a lost mining community and missing population and modern treasure hunters combine in this eye opening mystery.

An estranged father and daughter,  some paranormal ghost busters and greed driven desperados travel to Abandon, each seeking something they think they lost.

Crouch shows humanities basic instincts haven't changed from 1893 to the present.

The author does a terrific job in creating both the environment and the climate for this book.  The interaction between the different groups and the motivation also provides an interesting twist to the story.  About the time you think you have the  plot figure out the author throws in another twist and makes you rethink your whole theory.

Excellent book which I highly recommend.
