Seal Team Six: Hunt the Wolf by Don Mann

This is an action-adventure written by an actual Seal Team 6 member. There's a (so far) four book series starting Thomas Crocker a SEAL Team six team member. This volume takes place all over the mid-east and focuses on terrorism and human trafficking.  The first one I reviewed,  Hunt the Scorpion takes place primarily in Libya.

Thomas Crocker is introduced in this volume.  He seems like a normal guy who mis-spent his youth being a "bad" boy.  Crocker credits the Navy and the Seal program with turning his life around and making him a man.  

This book was hard to read when dealing with the human trafficking.  It is hard to believe that there are people who actually stoop so low.   " Human trafficking represents an estimated $31.6 billion of international trade per annum in 2010.^[9] Human trafficking is thought to be one of the fastest-growing activities of transnational criminal organizations." (Wikipedia)  Crocker deals out the appropriate justice for the despicable thugs who indulge in slavery. 

The terrorism threat could be pulled from any recent newspaper and thus seemed all together too real.

As in  Hunt the Scorpion there is plenty of action for any adrenaline junkie.  Crocker and his men are on a dual search for terrorists and a Norwegian teen. 

I enjoyed the book and recommend it.

Starstrike, Task Force Mars by Kevin Dockery and Douglas Niles

Starstrike is a military shoot-em-up. Regardless of the time frame and setting, it still is a somewhat simplistic and far fetched saga of a group of SEALS. The new SEALS as opposed to the original Navy Seals are space faring commandos. On their first off world training mission they encounter hostile aliens and requite themselves in the tradition of the real Navy Seals. In other words, they kick some alien butt.

Although none of the characters are memorable as individuals as a group they prove themselves ferocious warriors. The arrogant aliens grossly outnumber, out gun the SEALS. The alien technology is superiour. In spite of this the SEALS show the Aliens that we may be backward technologically but our spirit and ferocity are not to be underestimated. The story is a very entertaining, small unit combat novel.

I recommend the book.
