Burning Bright by Nick Petrie

Peter Ash is combatting PTSD.  In his quest to be alone and outdoors he encounters a bear that drives him into the arms of June, a tough no-nonsense investigative reporter.  Together they find themselves investigating June’s mother's death and a mysterious logarithm.

Peter’s character is slowly changing as he recognizes the difficulties he faces with PTSD.   June is a bit of a force of nature.   She is attractive, bold, tough and surprisingly vulnerable in some situations.

The story and plot are intricate and captivating.   Peter’s accomplished friends provide backup when needed.  Peter, again, demonstrates his extraordinarily lethal past.

With the thousands of authors out there I feel fortunate to have had Petrie recommended to me.

I enjoyed the book and have already started Light It up, the next in the series.
